Hydroquinone does work, you only just have to use is consistently, give or take a few two times a day, once contained by the morning and once before bed. Make sure you single put it on the dark areas, because it will peroxide normal areas also.
See a dermatologist beforehand using hydroquinone gel. If used improperly or on unmistaken skin types it can make the problem worse. Also, if you use hydroquinone, you cannot find ANY sun. It can cause brown spots that won't fade close to the red spots that are the result of healed blemishes.
Red results fade with time so the best bet is to use a concealer until they are gone.
