Certainly avoid endemic areas if you travel (check beside County and State Health Departments)> Avoid pastures contained by or near swampy or low lying areas: Avoid late bird and report them to Your health department : Move your stock inside at dark and provide attracting light or insect killer: Avoid night time happenings out of doors and use repellents: Spray as recommended by your Health Department :If you develop flu like symptoms 4-10 days after a particular (or unknown )mosquito bite, see your physician(there are no vaccines)
By using insect repellent and by preventing stagnant water.
