I am getting an EGD next thursday and I am tremendously nervious! I do not know what to expect! Can someone tell me how is resembling? Should I be afraid? Thanks!EGD and SCARED!!?
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is an examination of the bin liner of the esophagus, stomach, and upper duodenum with a small camera (flexible endoscope) which is inserted down the throat.
I enjoy had this done and it is an uncomplicated test. He will tender you a twilight med and you won't even know what is going on.
It is not abnormal to nervousness what you don't know about. You will be fine. Anxiety is your worse rival in this one!! Relax!!
It's not that impossible and it doesn't hurt. It can be a little humiliated though. The doctor should be able to afford you a sedative to lessen your anxiety so that you can drift surrounded by and out of conciousness.
